Feed back on my magazine.

Front Cover - the main cover line should have a bright outline and the image should be smaller . "A-YSHA" coverline should slightly be moved down and smaller.

Contents Page - add more to the contents . Pictures are unique and attractive.

Double Page Spread - main image was good however i shouldn't of rotated the picture.  I should  place it again but straight, I should also add page numbers and add 1 more questions.

Overall there was a lot of positive feedback. The layout were hailed and of a high standard. I will take into consideration of what they said to improve my magazine.

Interview

You’re now blue tick verified which basically means you’re famous! How does it feel?
Is that what it means? I don’t think it means that! It’s just a blue tick. You can get one. I’ll get you one. Holla at DJ Big Folz, DJ Big Folz will get you the blue tick by Monday morning. Charlie Sloth’s the man, trust me.

How did you get the name ROKA?
It sounded really cool you know. I think God puts names in my head, like, ‘WickedSkengGirl ’, ‘Brownie’; I don’t know where they came from.

Everyone is calling you the leading girl of Grime; do you feel that there is a lot of pressure required from you?
I think whenever you’re in a good position, there’s always pressure, no matter what. So if you’re doing well in your craft, there’s always pressure to deliver but that’s all a part of it, you get what I’m saying? There’s always going to be pressure no matter where I’m at. I’m always going to have pressure to deliver, to make good music, to have good videos, to be entertaining.

What do think is different about you that’s created such a buzz?
I ain’t got a clue. I don’t know! I’m joking. I think I’m quite down to earth. I think people can kind of – I don’t want to say relate to me- but it’s just the whole human factor. I’m just like you, I'm a cool guy. You can see me and we can have a Perfect fried chicken and whatever.

You’re the first Female to win a MOBO in the new Grime category, how did that feel?
That’s sick man. I think that’s an honour. Because this is a scene I’ve been watching throughout my whole childhood, it’s a scene I’ve grew up on, a scene that’s heavily influenced me. I'm a child of Grime, so for me to go and win the first ever grime category for the MOBOs…that’s just an honour.

It seems ASAP TEAM have taken you under their wing, how did that relationship come about?
I tweeted Rocky ages ago, saying, “One day you’re going to know about me, trust me. We’re going to link up.” He ignored me – not like that though. I dropped my ‘Fire in the booth’ and Rocky saw it and he tweeted it and then, a few of them was just tweeting me and showing me love. It just built up from that and here we are!

Who’s the guy standing next to you in the photo?

“He’s my manager and right hand man DJ Big Folz, big shouts out the big homie.

Photoshoot

I edited one image on Photoshop. I used YouTube as there was a guide to achieve the look of the photos; to help me edit the photos to make them look more attractive. I would use the Black and white and white effect for my magazine for other images in my magazine.

Photoshoot

My Photo shoot didn't go to plan. One of the flash lights flood light wasn't on as an outcome my photos have come out darker than the usual. I'am going to use a photo editor website to brighten my photos. although my photo's were very dark i'm still going to be able to do my magazine to a good standard.

My Magazine Proposal (Evaluation)

This is my magazine proposal evaluation. The thing i forgot to mention is  the colour of the magazine. The font that i'm going to be using and the colour of it. The main criticisms that i got from my magazine proposal video is that i should of projected my voice and i should of been  more confidence when presenting my magazine. They also said that the ideas that was presented were presented was detailed. In my opinion i think that my magazine proposal was presented to a very good standard. I think my evaluators are correct and it help me create my magazine.

Studio

We had an induction to the studio in order to take successful shoots for the magazine we will be creating.

I was shown to many different features that i never seen before, therefore this session was extremely useful for me. I was also taught that lights are different and all of them do something different. Also, more features such as point light key lights creating shadow and fill lights.

The camera I was taught to you use was the NIKON D7000 which is 17,000,000 megapixel which will allow me to take pictures up to a high quality and standard. The one thing i found fascinating
was the gold and silver panels which allowed me to give a glimpse of gold on the skin and silver which contoured.

I chose to use a white backdrop, additional to this I was taught how to set the lights up for example there was 6 settings.  1 was the lowest and 6 was the highest.

SONA

Afro-beats is an highly embrace genre.Fast rising British Afrobeats artist @sonaman is taking over the UK Afrobeats scene with his triple release of head-banging  tracks.

Surprising us with bangers  Sona has dropped a series of hits . He started off with 'Ijo Sona' in  then he released  'No Wahala' and finally 'Eyy Mama' .All of these tracks  have been making a lot of noise, grabbing the attention of the common Afrobeat lovers.

STORMZY

Killing the music scene right now is @Stormzy1. Stormzy  recently won the a MOBOs for the best grime act. He tweeted his shock of winning the MOBOs and thanked his fans for all the support. Distribution

This is a magazine stand in WHSmith. Furthermore the magazine have been structured to show t the model and the title anything and the bottom doesn't seem to be necessary. It also seems to be organised in a certain way where the rock is the main magazine that sell. They don't seem to have many  copies of one magazine, which means if more than one person wants that a magazine they won't get one , the upside to this is that WHSmith is wasting less money . The masterhead have been placed in different forms, some in front of the model or being also some have been placed in the corner of the magazine. All masterhead have massive font , which stands out and is very attractive, which will help sell magazines because  it gets customer attention.

I have discovered that XXL magazine distributes in many ways. They distribute by putting their magazines on magazine stands also through the internet making it more accessible for everyone. XXL also have an app, so now it’s also accessible on your phone and tablets. It's much easier because there's an app for it. XXL have a YouTube channel, People can subscribe and watch anytime they like.

College Magazine Evaluation

My college magazine didn't go as i planned for many reasons but i think my final out come was more than satisfactory . The first reason for my magazine not going the way i planned is because i was experienced in using Photoshop. I have only used Photoshop briefly in GCSE leaving me with no experience at all.

The second reason is that i hardly  put up any coverlines and the ones i put up were small meaning it was hard to see for many people. My masterhad  was also weak because it didn't put no background to it. My picture wasn't good as well because it was taken on a phone. if i want to take a better picture i will have to use a professional studio. My coverlines were informative and useful so the reader knew what to expect when reading the magazine.

My contents page was also plain. I only listed 16 pages which isn't big enough for a magazine also i had no real information about the pages. The only good think about my contents page is that you could see the numbers clearly.

Overall there need to be a massive improvement in my work because its clearly isn't good enough.

Evaluation

Evaluation

My research skill for this task was very strong. I spent a considerable amount of time finding accurate quotes and facts about Piracy. I got real quotes from popular artist that are still in the music industry. I got people in the music industry because their opinions are most relevant. The only bad thing I’ll say about my research is that I didn’t put enough artist enough.

My writing skills where flawless. I wanted to add a sense of anger and passion in to my writing. Personally I think my writing is what makes the article as good as it is. Most magazine rely on the background colour, pictures etc to make the article good because the writing is weak. My writing is the best thing about my magazine.

My In-design skills were weak to be honest. This is my first time using this type of design to make a magazine so I’m adapting to this software. As i get use to software i will get better at designing magazines.

My audience feedback gave me a variety of things to take in. Both negative and positive. The common thing upon my feedback was my creating skills were weak however writing was very strong.

My Publishing skill is average nothing special. To improve on this ill continue to blog as much as I can.

The only improvement that I’ll recommend for myself is that I learn how to use In-design to its full effect and aim to get my magazine design as attractive as it can.
